Cowboy action competitors want smooth, fast hammers, and a short stroke conversion helps. Uberti's Short Stroke SASS Pro cuts the hammer's travel so you can cock and fire quickly. This revolver is chambered in .357 Magnum with a 4.75 inch barrel, six rounds and a nickel finish.

The SASS name points to the Single Action Shooting Society, the main sanctioning body for cowboy matches. A revolver tuned for that sport usually has a lighter trigger, a smoother action and easy handling.

Nickel plating is bright and handles sweat and moisture well. It stands out on a belt and is simple to wipe clean after a match. At 4.75 inches, the barrel is the usual choice for match shooters.

Most .357 Magnum cowboy shooters load .38 Special for matches, since it is mild and light on the hand. You can shoot magnum loads when you want a little more fun. Spend a day at the range learning how it shoots with different loads, and write down which ones group best.

The revolver is listed new. It ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
