El Patron is one of the better-looking Cattleman variants, and the NM stands for New Model. It is a .45 Long Colt single action with a 4.75-inch barrel, a six-round cylinder, and walnut grips.
New Model Uberti revolvers have the smooth, positive action that shooters expect from the 1873 pattern. The hammer cocks with a clean click, the lockup is tight, and the sights are simple. Standard .45 Colt loads are gentle, so an afternoon at the range or a cowboy match wears you out less than the heavier magnum revolvers.
Walnut grips feel warm in the hand and look right with blued or case-hardened metal. A 4.75-inch barrel is the classic length for a belt gun, handy to carry yet long enough for decent accuracy. On the ranch it rides well in a leather holster.
Treat it like any single action. Load through the gate, count your chambers, and keep the hammer on an empty one when carrying. Wipe it down and oil it lightly. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check takes place there.
