Cowboy action shooters have used .38 Special for a century because it is quiet, gentle and cheap. Uberti's 1873 Cattleman Stallion Target is chambered in .38 Special, with a 5.5 inch barrel and six rounds. The listing says New Model, steel, and mentions target, so expect target style sights.

The Stallion line is a plain, honest version of the Cattleman. The target tag suggests an adjustable rear sight, which helps with groups at the range.

A .38 Special revolver of this type is a match gun in the best sense. You can shoot a stage with soft loads and keep your hands comfortable. The recoil is light and the report is mild. That makes it a good way to learn single action shooting.

The price is about six hundred dollars, which is fair for an Italian made revolver. Compared with .45 Colt, the ammunition costs less and is easier to find.

The listing is new. It ships to your FFL dealer for the background check. Run it through a few cylinders of mild loads first so you learn how the sights and trigger feel.
