Compact and lively, the Taurus TX22 Compact is a .22 LR pistol with a 3.6-inch threaded barrel and a ten-round magazine. The black finish carries a blue flag motif that gives it some style.

The TX22 line is known for light weight and a good trigger for a rimfire, and the compact version is a fine choice for smaller hands. The single-action design gives a crisp break for plinking and training. It also works for small game at close range and for casual target shooting.

A rimfire pistol is a great way to build skills without spending a lot on ammunition. Ten rounds in the magazine is plenty for a range session, and the pistol is easy to carry in a pack on a walk. The threaded barrel allows muzzle attachments where legal, so check your state rules.

Keep the pistol clean, since rimfire ammunition leaves residue, and lubricate the slide rails lightly. Never rely on a rimfire for anything beyond its limits. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is completed there before you take it home.
