Cocobolo is a beautiful wood, and Heritage puts it on a working-man's revolver. The Rough Rider Small Bore single-action is chambered in .22 WMR, with a 6.5 inch blued barrel, six rounds and rich cocobolo grips.
Because it shoots .22 Magnum, it gets more reach and more power than a standard .22 LR revolver. That gives it a role as a trail gun for rabbits, grouse and the odd varmint. Recoil is still light, so it is easy to shoot accurately. Fresh ammunition from a reliable maker makes a real difference in how smoothly any lever gun or single-action revolver runs.
The 6.5 inch barrel balances well. It is long enough to give you a good sight line and short enough to carry on the belt without being a nuisance. Blued steel and dark wood give it a traditional Western feel that is hard to find at this price.
Treat it as a handy backcountry companion or a plinker with something extra. The single-action design requires cocking the hammer for each shot, so take your time and build good habits. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is finished at pickup.
