Plain and cheap, this Rough Rider is a rimfire single action in .22 LR with a 6.5 inch barrel and a six round cylinder. At just over two hundred dollars, it falls in the budget range.

A 6.5 inch barrel is a good middle length. It gives a sight picture that is easy to line up and a muzzle weight that steadies the aim. New shooters find it simple to hold and fire.

Think of it as a camp revolver or a trunk gun that gets used for tin cans and the occasional snake. It teaches the habits of handling a single action revolver without any heavy recoil or loud noise. Use it with a box of .22 LR and a few paper targets.

If you do not need fancy grips or special finishes, a plain Rough Rider will do the job. You can always replace the grips later. Take a few minutes at the dealer counter to handle it, work the action and check how it fits your shoulder or hand before you leave.

The listing is new. It ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
