Patriotic grips and a low price tag make this Heritage Rough Rider a fun one. It is a .22 LR single-action revolver with a 6.5 inch barrel, a blued finish, a six-round cylinder and an Independence Day theme on the grips.

The Rough Rider has been a staple of the rimfire revolver market for years. Its appeal is simple: cheap to buy, cheap to feed, and a good way to learn the basics. A 6.5 inch barrel gives a nice sight picture without feeling clumsy, and .22 LR recoil is almost nonexistent. Take your time loading and unloading until the routine is second nature.

Keep it around the farm for small pests, take it to the range for plinking, or give it to a young shooter learning on a safe, quiet cartridge. Single-action means you cock the hammer for each shot, which builds careful habits.

The themed grips make it a conversation piece, and the blued steel keeps the classic look. It is not a match gun, but it is a good time. The revolver ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check takes place at pickup.
