Take a big-bore lever gun's looks, shrink the cartridge to .22 LR, and the result is a rifle you can shoot all day without flinching. The Henry Big Boy Deadeye with the Gunfighter grip does just that, in a blued finish that looks the part.

The Gunfighter grip is the standout. It is a straight, pistol-like grip rather than the usual curved wrist, which gives the rifle a different look and a different feel in the hand. Cowboy-action shooters like that style for its authentic look and quick handling.

A .22 LR lever gun is a good teacher. It lets you practice working the lever, shouldering the rifle, and settling the sights without burning expensive centerfire ammo. It also handles rats, rabbits and other small pests around the property with plenty of authority.

Henry builds its lever guns to run smoothly out of the box, and this one is sold new. It is a fine choice for a plinker who wants something that looks like a big-bore Western rifle. It ships to your FFL dealer, where the background check is done.
