Short barrels and birdshead grips are traits you expect on a revolver, not a Henry lever gun. But this Big Boy Deadeye is a revolver, chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special with a 4-inch barrel and six-shot cylinder.

The birdshead grip is a rounded shape that sits low in the palm and reduces felt recoil in a different way than the standard army grip. Walnut panels give it warmth and a good hold. The short barrel is easy to carry and holsters comfortably, which is handy for trail walks and ranch chores.

You can shoot mild .38 Specials all day at the range without fatigue, and keep a few .357 Magnum rounds ready for pests or trouble around the farm. Single-action shooting makes you think about each shot, and a 4-inch barrel is quick to bring up.

Load through the gate, rotate the cylinder, and keep the hammer down on an empty chamber when carrying. Wipe and oil the gun after use. It ships to your FFL dealer, where the background check is completed before you take it home.
