Pistoleer is Cimarron's name for a single-action revolver with a long-barrel, gunfighter feel. This one is chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special, so you can pick your load for the job.
A .357 revolver is a good all-around choice. Mild .38 Special rounds keep recoil low for beginners and make cowboy action stages pleasant. Magnum rounds bring more velocity for the farm, the trail, and the occasional hog hunt. The single-action pattern is simple and reliable, with few parts to worry about.
Cimarron builds its Pistoleer in the traditional army style, so it feels familiar if you have handled an old Colt. The balance is good, the grip fits most hands, and the sights are the fixed type you would expect.
Cimarron's traditional fit and finish make it a good value in the class. Wipe the steel after use, oil the working parts, and keep the hammer on an empty chamber when carrying. Load one chamber at a time through the gate. The revolver ships to your FFL dealer, where the background check is completed before you take it home.
