The lever-action shotgun was a Western novelty a century and a half ago, and it is still a showstopper. Cimarron's 1887 is a 12 gauge with a 20 inch barrel and walnut furniture, a replica of the old Winchester design.
Two rounds is the listed capacity, so this is not a high-volume gun. What it does well is cowboy-action shooting, where a lever shotgun is part of the show. The short barrel swings quickly and the lever lets you keep the gun on your shoulder while you reload from a belt.
The 1887 action was designed for black powder shells, and many modern replicas are rated only for certain loads. Read the manual and ask about approved ammunition before shooting. Do not assume that any 12 gauge shell is safe in a replica like this.
Used with care, it is a fine fun gun for the range and a conversation piece for the wall. Walnut gives it classic looks, and the short barrel makes it handy in tight quarters. It ships to your FFL dealer, and the background check is completed there.
