The Winchester 1886 was John Browning's answer to the need for a lever action strong enough for big cartridges. This Deluxe model is chambered in .45-90, with a 24 inch barrel and case hardened finish.

The .45-90 was a black powder cartridge for buffalo and elk. Today it appeals to shooters who want a big, old-time round in a classic rifle. Loads can be mild or heavy depending on the ammunition you choose.

A rifle like this is a heirloom for the shooter who values craftsmanship. Take it to the range for a long day with cast bullets, or keep it on the rack for admiration. The price reflects that quality.
