The Model 1873 was the gun that won the West in the advertising, and this Deluxe Limited Edition is a genuine Winchester Repeating Arms rifle. It is chambered in .357 Magnum with an 18 inch octagon barrel and nine rounds. The listing says the weight is about 8 pounds.

The seller notes describe an oil-finished walnut stock, a blued steel carbine strap buttplate and a full-length magazine like the original. A semi-buckhorn rear sight and a Marble Arms gold bead front sight are fitted. The loading gate is steel and the rear tang is drilled and tapped for an optional tang sight, which is not included.

Shooting .357 Magnum and .38 Special from a carbine is pleasant. Recoil is light, the rifle balances well and it is fast to point. Cowboy action shooters and collectors both see value in a gun like this.

It is a rifle for someone who does not want a copy of a copy,. Treat it well and it should hold its appeal for decades.

The listing is new. It ships to your FFL dealer for the background check.
