Round counts matter at a cowboy action match, and ten rounds of .45 Long Colt in the tube makes this carbine a strong choice. The Rossi M92 has a 20 inch barrel and stainless finish. It is a copy of the old Winchester 1892 pattern, with a smooth lever that runs fast.

Stainless steel is a sensible choice for a rifle that gets wet. It shrugs off rain and sweat better than blued steel. The 20 inch barrel is long enough for decent velocity and short enough to swing in brush.

Using .45 Long Colt gives you a matched pair if you also own a revolver in the same cartridge. Cowboy loads are mild and friendly, and heavier loads are available for the woods. The Rossi M92 works for a brush gun or a truck gun.

For a lot of shooters, it is the practical entry into lever gun ownership. The price is moderate and it handles like a gun that costs more.
