Large loop levers have a certain swagger, and Henry puts one on this Classic Carbine in .22 LR. The model H001R22 is blued, light, and quick, a rifle built for easy days afield.

A .22 lever gun is about the friendliest rifle you can hand a newcomer. Recoil is nothing, the report is mild, and the action teaches a smooth rhythm. The large loop gives room for a gloved hand, which matters on cold mornings when you are after squirrels or rabbits.

Carbine proportions keep the rifle handy. It fits through brush, rides across the seat of a truck, and does not tire a young shooter. Cheap rimfire ammunition means you can practice often, and that is how marksmanship gets built.

Keep the magazine tube clean, wipe the blued steel after wet outings, and add a drop of oil to the action now and then. Check that the chamber is empty before handing the rifle to anyone. The carbine ships to your FFL dealer, where the background check is completed before you take it home.
