Kids grow, and a rifle that fits them is worth the money. The Henry Classic Youth is a .22 Magnum lever action with a 16.5 inch barrel, a ten-round magazine, blued steel and a walnut stock cut shorter for smaller shooters.

A short length of pull and a trim barrel make the rifle easier to hold steady. Young hands can work the lever without a struggle, and the light weight cuts down on fatigue. The .22 WMR adds reach and power over a plain .22 LR, which suits rabbits, squirrels and other small game. Take your time loading and unloading until the routine is second nature.

Parents like that Henry actions run smoothly and safely when taught right. Always supervise young shooters, and spend time on handling basics before ammo comes out. Ten rounds is enough for a morning hunt without a lot of reloads.

Adults with a smaller frame will appreciate the compact fit too. It is a good first hunting rifle and a handsome one. The rifle ships to your FFL dealer, who completes the background check at pickup.
